SUCCEED WHEN WORKING INTERNATIONALLY
Coaching in general consists of a conversation process with a clear objective established by the client which serves as to guide the exchange. This objective
allows both client and coach to evaluate the effectiveness of the session.
Unlike therapy, coaching does not focus on the past to better understand today's problem, but looks at how the person can achieve their goal in the future
from the present.
The work of a coach is similar to a sports coach, they help you improve
your performance to go further. A good sports coach has many specific exercises
to improve performance on the playing field. But the most important gear for a coach
is their capacity to listen and ask open questions. It is the client who provides all
the content and material to work with. A metaphor could be the client is in their kitchen and their goal is to prepare a pleasant meal for some guests. The coach is in this place as an observer but also a partner in reflection.
That is to say, they facilitate the client's reflection process by creating a space of trust where the client can reflect on how she proceeds to achieve her goal and the coach can ask questions that will raise more awareness to consider all the elements that can influence the completion of this objective. Often this can lead to noticing other options that previously were not visible.
